Granite is an igneous rock that has a visible crystalline structure and is usually polished to a high gloss finish. Unlike other stone options, granite is so hard and dense that it can be used for almost any purpose. With proper maintenance it is very resistant to staining, etching, fading and burning. Colors, crystal size and structure, and patterns can vary significantly from granite to granite and from slab to slab of the same granite.
